2) Custom Playground Designer
We’re looking for a designer with a background in architecture, industrial design, exhibit/themed design, or spatial experience design—someone who knows how to turn creative ideas into buildable physical environments.
❌ Note: This is not a UX/UI or digital product design position.✅ This role is focused on the design of physical play environments, sculptural elements, and custom playground structures.
What You’ll Do
This is a full-time on-site role for a Play Experience Designer to work at our studio in St Louis Park, MN. As a Play Experience Designer, you’ll shape immersive playgrounds and sculptural features from concept to creation, collaborating across design, engineering, and production.
Your day-to-day might include:
• Design engaging, thematic play environments and sculptural features
• Develop 3D models, renderings, and technical design packages
• Work with our creative, engineering, and production teams
• Translate stories and ideas into tangible play experiences
• Present designs internally and, on occasion, externally to clients or reps
• Research and ideate around materials, trends, and safety standards
• Bring big energy, fresh ideas, and an eye for details to every project
What We’re Looking For
✔ A degree in Architecture, Exhibit/Themed Design, Design, or related field
✔ 2+ years of professional design experience designing physical spaces or products
✔ Highly proficient in SketchUp Pro for concept modeling, presentation renderings, and technical documentation.
✔ Proficiency in other 3D modeling software (Blender, ZBrush), Adobe Creative Suite, and rendering tools (Twinmotion a plus)
✔ Strong portfolio showcasing real-world design work—playgrounds, exhibits, sculpture, architecture, or fabrication-based projects
✔ Curiosity, collaboration skills, and a willingness to get scrappy when needed
✔Ability to work on-site in St Louis Park, MN
➕Bonus: experience with playgrounds, themed environments, sculpture
